Women in Finance Charter
East Sussex Credit Union is a savings and loans co-operative providing safe savings and affordable loans for local people. Equality is at the heart of what we do and we acknowledge that over 50% of our membership are women.
As of 31st December 2016, 57% of ESCU's paid staff were women (8 out of 14).
Women account for 60% of the Senior Management Team and head 3 out of 5 departments.
ESCU's Board of Directors is elected annually by the membership. 3 women (30%) serve on the Board at this time.
By signing up the Women in Finance Charter, ESCU commits to:
1. Setting and monitoring targets
The CEO will be accountable for implementing targets and monitoring progresses.
The Credit Union will ensure that women are fairly represented at Senior Management level as well as at Board level.
2. Publishing targets
ESCU commits to ensuring that women represent at least 50% of the Senior Management Team.
Gender equality will be in all job descriptions by March 2017, and will be measured during annual appraisals.
