Work with us Volunteers

Volunteers undertake the majority of operations at the Credit Union. Our volunteers are from all walks of life and ages, and volunteer with us for a variety of reasons, including 'wanting to help the community in a practical way' and to gain work experience.

We provide a comprehensive training and induction package and we have a 'volunteers charter' which is regularly monitored by the Board, who are volunteers themselves.

We currently have vacancies for

  • Administration volunteers - to help us in both the back and front office with customer service and various administrative duties. No previous experience is required apart from basic IT skills and the ability to speak and read English. Contact us on 0300 303 3188 or email volunteering@eastsussexcu.org.uk for more information.
  • Other Volunteer Opportunities - After an initial period learning the software platform and the membership base, volunteers can apply for other volunteering roles including: loans processing, credit control, finance, marketing, digital marketing, conducting Manage Your Money sessions and giving talks about the East Sussex Credit Union.

  • Board Members - We are always looking for members with the right skills to volunteer at the offices and run regular recruitment rounds. All members are also eligible to stand for election to our board of Directors. Email info@eastsussexcu.org.uk or ask at the office for more information.

If you are uncertain what type of role you would like, then contact us anyway. You can always come in for a trial of any area if you wish.
