Social Media Policy - March 2015
This policy is intended to help East Sussex
Credit Union staff, members and non-members to make appropriate decisions about
the use of social media such as blogs, wikis, social networking websites,
podcasts, forums, message boards, or comments on web-articles, such as Twitter,
Facebook, LinkedIn and other social media sites.
This policy outlines the standards we require
to be observed when using social media, the circumstances in which we will monitor
your use of social media and the action we will take in respect of breaches of

right to use this content in any and all East Sussex Credit Union websites,
including social media channels, print and other media, without payment or any

controlled by East Sussex Credit Union. To ensure exchanges that are
productive, informative, respectful of diverse viewpoints and lawful, East
Sussex Credit Union reserves the right to deny or remove any posts or comments

Offensive or Disparaging Language -
Credit Union will not tolerate discrimination (including age, sex, race,
colour, creed, religion, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity,
national origin, citizenship, disability, or marital status or any other
legally recognized protected basis under current laws, regulations or
ordinances). This includes comments containing, but not limited
to: profane or provocative language, malicious intent, obscene or sexually
explicit language, inflammatory language or disparaging language.

Comments that seek to defame or defraud any financial, commercial, or
non-governmental agency are not permitted. Comments that contain any suggestion
or encouragement of illegal activity are not permitted. Comments/posts must not
violate laws that govern the use of copyrights, trade secrets, etc.
Misuse of social media websites can, in
certain circumstances, constitute a criminal offence or otherwise give rise to
legal liability against you and us. It may also cause embarrassment to us and
to our members.

Participation on the site is done at your own risk. Therefore you are
taking personal responsibility for your posts/comments, your username and any
information you provide. Please do not provide any of your specific account
details or other personal information. If you have immediate service

not be accepted.

on selling a product or service, or comments posted for the purpose of driving
traffic to a particular website for personal, political or monetary gain are
photos will not be accepted unless specifically requested by an authorized
representative of East Sussex Credit Union for a contest or business-related
purposed. In these instances, pictures will be reviewed and will not be
posted if deemed inappropriate.
